Whether you’re dealing with joint pain, back pain, or nerve irritation, steroid injections can provide targeted relief to help you move and feel better.
Led by Dr. Shane Huch, our board-certified team customizes every treatment plan to help patients regain mobility, comfort, and quality of life—without the need for surgery.
Steroid injections, also known as corticosteroid injections, deliver powerful anti-inflammatory medication directly into painful joints, soft tissues, or near irritated nerves. By calming inflammation at the source, these injections can provide rapid pain relief and allow healing to progress.
The procedure is performed in-office and guided by imaging for precision. Steroid injections are often recommended when oral medications or physical therapy alone aren’t enough to manage pain effectively.
Steroid injections offer a quick, targeted approach to pain management without the need for surgery or extended downtime. Many patients experience noticeable improvement within just a few days.

Steroid injections ease swelling and stiffness in major joints affected by arthritis or injury, helping patients move more comfortably.
Targeted injections around spinal nerves (epidural steroid injections) help reduce nerve root inflammation and radiating pain.
Inflammation of the bursa, common in the hip, elbow, or shoulder, can be relieved with steroid injections.
Conditions like rotator cuff tendonitis or tennis elbow often respond well to steroid injections that reduce swelling around tendons.
Both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis flares can be managed with strategically placed steroid injections.
After sprains, strains, or other soft tissue injuries, steroid injections can quickly calm swelling and speed recovery.
At the Center for Regenerative Therapy & Pain Management, we use steroid injections as part of personalized treatment plans to help patients return to active, pain-free living. If you’re struggling with joint pain, nerve irritation, or soft tissue swelling, a targeted steroid injection could offer the quick, lasting relief you need.
Take the first step toward feeling better.
Steroid injections reduce inflammation in specific areas of the body, which relieves pressure on nerves, joints, or tissues and decreases pain.
Some patients feel relief within a few hours, but it typically takes 2–5 days for the full effect to be noticeable.
Pain relief from a steroid injection can last anywhere from several weeks to several months, depending on the condition and individual response.
The injection itself causes only brief discomfort, similar to a standard shot. The treatment area is often numbed beforehand for added comfort.
Doctors generally recommend limiting steroid injections to three or four per year in the same area to prevent tissue damage.
Minor side effects like mild soreness or swelling at the injection site are possible. Serious complications are rare but can include infection or temporary blood sugar elevation.
Steroid injections are highly effective for arthritis, joint inflammation, bursitis, tendonitis, and nerve-related back or neck pain.
We provide advanced, personalized pain management care for patients across New Jersey, led by board-certified specialist Dr. Shane Huch.
